One more Cuban political prisoner savagely beaten up in jail. His name is Carlos Martìn, member of the Cuban Liberal Movement (Movimiento Liberal Cubano, MLC)  Below are some photos showing some acivists of the MLC. Among them are some activists who have been detained, his and other prisoners' relatives. These photos were sent by my friend Maximo Garcìa, another member of the Cuban Liberal Movement.

June, 18, 2006. 31 Ladies in Whites (wives, daughters,sisters and mothers of political prisoners in Cuba) ,marched to Santa Rita church in Havana, marking the Father's Day.  It's 3 years that the Cuban political prisoners cannot pass the father's day with their children. It's to note that other Ladies were expected to join the march, but were prevented from the political police.

I've established contacts with Martha Beatriz Roque, former Cuban political prisoner and leader of the Assembly to Promote the Civil Society in Cuba. She's suffering from almost daily harassment by the State Security (SS)-led Castroite plainclothes militias. Recently,she was savagely beaten in her own house by a neighbor member of the political police. Last day, she was at a cafè in Havana along with two people, when a Castroite mob led by the SS approached to her and started shouting the usual offenses ('U.S. mercenary', 'counter-revolutionary', etc.) plus a blatant offense such as : "Martha, you're eating an ice cream while Guillermo Farinas is dying for your fault".  The Castroites know well that Guillermo is Martha's friend and he's dying because the regime denies him free access to the Internet at his home. These lies and offenses were shouted by the mob IN FRONT OF FOREIGN TOURISTS and Cubans working at the cafe. The latter, in a brave gesture, showed solidarity to Martha.Listen to the news as told by a Cuban dissident here . Good friend Claudia Marquez, former political prisoner in Cuba, lives in Puerto Rico after fleeing Cuba on July 2005 and met her father and sister a month later in Miami. It was the first time she met her in 27 .He fled Cuba during the Mariel massive exodus in 1980. Claudia had never met her sister in person, as the latter was born in exile. Read here, in Spanish.

In Iran, women (who have to wear the mandatory veil) are banned from entering the stadiums.

On June 12, Cuban opposition movement "Plantados Hasta la Libertad" gathered to debate about the deteriorating health conditions of independent journalista Guillermo Hernandez, hospitalized since 2 months due to an ongoing hunger strike started on January 31th. The gathering took place in spite of the presence, outside the Independent Library where the dissidents were gathered, of members of the Rapid Response Brigades, shouting insults and offenses at the peaceful and maverick dissidents. Others were prevented by the mob from joining the dissidents, and were threatened that, in case they went in, they would be beaten up. Despite the constant harassment of the plainclothes Castroite police agents, the activists' gathering took place. Read the news, in Spanish, here

Masiel Díaz Sánchez , daughter of a Cuban political prisoner sends wishes to her imprisoned father on Father's Day: "I wish you could give me a kiss before I sleep and I wish you could tell me a story....Come back soon.I miss you. I want you so much". This young girl was victim, along with the Ladies in White, of an aggression by the fascist mobs led by the political police when, on 2004, they attacked the Ladies who were going out of the Santa Rita church in Havana. The key to integration is for the immigrants to learn to respect the country where they live and that means that barbaric "traditions" such as Sharia, wife-beating, female genital mutilation,honor killing, etc, have NO PLACE in the host country and if such rule is violated, they have to face punishment. But it seems that the new Italian gov't (may it not last long) believes that integration means that it's the host society who must accept the newcomers' rules and not vice-versa.

Cubans protest against police's brutality! On last May 23, an unprecedented protest occurred in Camaguey, Cuba. While the "revolutionary" police were forcing several people to leave their homes and then destroyed those 40 houses, some 200 neighbors approached the police and started singing the national hymn and slogans against the police. Suddenly, the latter responded by beating many protestors, who thrown pieces of stones at the police. Detto questo, uno dei pochi punti che mi divide dalla linea dei RL è proprio questo dei "Caino" e "Abele".  Detto anche questo, sono candidata per i RL perchè ritengo che siano gli unici che si vogliono impegnare a fondo nei temi a me più cari e che mi hanno spinto ad inscrivermi come simpatizzante : battaglia per riformare l'economia italiana in senso liberista;battaglia per consolidare la laicità dello stato senza però essere anticlericali; battaglia contro la cultura antiamericana di certa classe politica; battaglia per rendere consapevoli gli italiani del bisogno di promuovere la libertà nel mondo. Domani posterò i santini per mostrarvi come si vota, nel caso risiediate a Cagliari e vogliate votarmi.

Siguen llegando y se estàn multiplicando. More and more Cubans risk life in the sea to flee Castro. Yesterday, 12 Cubans landed in Isla Mona, Puerto Rico. Already 11 more landed there on Saturday. 27 Cubans landed in Honduras in the last 3 days.  All the refugees aim to go to Miami.

I kamikaze che in Iran si dicono pronti a sferrare attacchi in Europa (principlamente sono islamisti importati dai paesi vicini,mentre gli iraniani in questi giorni stanno manifestando contro il regime), stilano una lista di paesi da colpire: dalla Francia all'Olanda, passando per l'Italia. E quale sarebbe il crimine dell'Italia che tirano fuori per poterci attaccare? Ebbene, il fatto che il nostro paese ha giustamente dato asilo politico all'afgano convertitosi al cristianesimo. Speriamo solo che Prodi ed i suoi compagni comunisti al governo, non facciano la cazzata di espellere Abdul Rahman e mandarlo a morire lapidato in Afghanistan.
